Trade agreement

ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) →Thailand is an ASEAN member, so the ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement applies. Claim lower duty with a preferential certificate of origin.

Their import rules

  • Many industrial products need a TISI (Thai Industrial Standards Institute) mark before sale.
  • Food, cosmetics, medicines and medical devices are registered with the Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA); labels must be in Thai.

How to find buyers

  • Write to the commerce wing of the Embassy of India, Bangkok for buyer lists and trade enquiries.
  • Read the trade enquiries that Indian missions abroad send to the Indian Trade Portal.
  • List your products on the Indian Business Portal (FIEO) so foreign buyers can find you.
  • Join your export promotion council's buyer-seller meets and Market Access Scheme (MAS) events.
  • Visit or exhibit at the trade fairs listed below; ask your export promotion council about subsidised India pavilions.
