§2Eligibility

  1. Age 21-45 for general; up to 55 for special category (Women/BC/MBC/SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Transgenders/Differently abled)
  2. Education: Higher Secondary (+2 pass) / Degree / Diploma / ITI / Vocational training
  3. Manufacturing or service projects only; project cost Rs.10.00 lakh to Rs.5.00 crore
  4. First-generation entrepreneur; first and new project (per scheme eligibility note); business/trading enterprises ineligible
  5. Resident of Tamil Nadu for not less than 3 years (per older eligibility PDF on portal)

§3Benefits

  • Individual-based capital subsidy 25% of project cost, maximum Rs.75.00 lakh
  • 3% interest subvention through the entire repayment period

  1. Capital subsidy 25% of project cost, max Rs.75.00 lakh
  2. 3% interest subvention for full repayment period
  3. Promoter contribution 10% (general), 5% (special category)
  4. Bank/TIIC/TAICO loan for balance

§7Pros and cons

Merits

  • Cap raised to Rs.75 lakh with project cost up to Rs.5 crore - one of the largest state self-employment subsidies (scheme page)
  • Live public dashboard shows sanctions and approval time (86 days average in FY 2026-27)

Demerits

  • Older eligibility PDF on the same portal still shows age 21-35 and project cost Rs.5 lakh-Rs.1 crore, which conflicts with the current scheme page - confirm with DIC
  • Trading/business projects not allowed
