Section 44
Business plan (one page)
Use it to think through a new business on one page before you spend money, and to explain it to a partner, family member or banker.
Know before you sign
- Use real numbers: take written quotations for machines and rent before you fill in the start-up cost.
- Keep working capital for at least the first few months in the cost. Many new businesses run short of cash before sales pick up.
- A bank will usually ask for a detailed project report as well. This one-page plan is the summary that goes on top of it.
- Micro businesses can apply for loans under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. MUDRA's categories run up to ₹20 lakh, and the top category (Tarun Plus) is only for borrowers who have repaid an earlier Tarun loan.
- Register on the Udyam portal once you start. It is free and many schemes and bank programmes ask for the Udyam registration number.
- Show the plan to someone who already runs a similar business and ask what you have missed.
