The story
Sarthebari in Barpeta district is Assam's best-known bell metal village, where families hammer and cast bell metal into kahi plates, bati bowls and the sorai offering tray used in Assamese homes and ceremonies. The craft passes from parents to children in small home workshops. Sarthebari Metal Craft received a GI in 2023-24.
