§7Pros and cons
Merits
- Targets 48 GW of fully integrated capacity with investment commitments of nearly ₹52,942 crore (PIB Feb 2026).
- Domestic module supply helps solar EPC firms and component suppliers.
Demerits
- Bid-based, GW-scale: only very large players could take part (MNRE).
- PLI pays only on incremental sales over a base year, so a new or small firm with no base-year sales or below the thresholds gets nothing (scheme design, PIB 2026).
