The story
Bareilly is one of the main zari-zardozi centres of Rohilkhand, where karigars stitch metal and coloured threads, beads and sequins onto fabric stretched on wooden frames. Much of the work is done in homes and small workshops for traders and fashion houses in Delhi and Mumbai. Zari zardozi is Bareilly's ODOP product and has a GI tag.
