The story
Meerut's scissor makers are known for sturdy scissors whose blades are made from recycled metal and whose handles are cast or riveted by hand in small workshops. The craft is carried on by families in the old city. Meerut also has a long-standing trade in brass band instruments, and the Meerut bugle has its own GI tag.
