What it is
Brown, thick acid slurry — the main active ingredient of washing powder, detergent cake and dishwash liquid. Made by sulphonating LAB.

Where imports come from
Made by many small and large sulphonation units from LAB; no official production series was found.
Rules before you buy or sell
- No Quality Control Order for LABSA appears on the BIS compulsory-certification list (checked 18 Oct 2026).
- Its raw material LAB has a QCO (IS 12795:2020) that is temporarily suspended; BIS lists 31 Dec 2026 as its implementation date.
- Corrosive; transport needs proper hazard labels.
Storage and handling
Corrosive. Store in HDPE or stainless-steel drums, closed; keep away from alkalis until mixing.
