The story
Silao, on the road between Rajgir and Nalanda, is famous for khaja, a crisp layered sweet made from flour, ghee and sugar syrup. Shops along the highway sell to pilgrims and tourists, and the sweet travels well. Silao Khaja is GI-registered.
