Rules before you buy or sell

  • No QCO for PET chips appears on the BIS list. QCOs on its inputs — terephthalic acid (IS 15030) and ethylene glycol (IS 5295) — were rescinded on 12 Nov 2025, as were polyester yarn and fibre QCOs.
  • Bottles for food and drinks must use food-grade material that meets FSSAI packaging rules.
  • Check the import policy of your exact 8-digit ITC(HS) code on the DGFT website before you import.

Storage and handling

Keep sealed; dry the chips before moulding because PET absorbs moisture.
