Rules before you buy or sell

• BIS QCO for polyethylene for moulding and extrusion (IS 7328:2020, covering LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE) was rescinded by S.O. 5136(E) on 12 Nov 2025. A BIS licence is no longer compulsory for the resin.
• If you make HDPE/PP woven sacks for food grain or sugar, the sack itself needs BIS certification (IS 14887, IS 16208, IS 14968); cement and fertiliser sack QCOs (IS 11652, IS 16709, IS 9755) have dates in late 2026 and early 2027.
• Check the import policy of your exact 8-digit ITC(HS) code on the DGFT website before you import.
