The story
Gurugram's services boom began in the late 1990s when GE set up a back-office centre here and DLF built office parks close to Delhi's airport. Call centres and BPM firms followed, then IT companies, consulting firms and global capability centres. Cyber City, Golf Course Road and the Sohna Road belt now hold many company headquarters. The city's growth has outpaced its roads, drainage and water supply.
