The story
Jagadhri was known for brassware for generations, with metal rolling and utensil workshops in the old town. As brass became costly, units moved to stainless steel and aluminium utensils and sheet rolling. The town supplies wholesale utensil markets across north India. Cheaper power and land in Rajasthan and Gujarat now pull business away.
In numbers
Jagadhri has about 1,500 micro, small and medium metal units making utensils from stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper.
