The story
Women of the Hazaribagh region paint Sohrai murals on mud walls for the harvest festival and Khovar art in bridal rooms, using earth colours and comb-cut patterns. Artists have moved the tradition onto paper, canvas and public walls, including railway stations. Sohrai–Khovar Painting is GI-registered.
