The story
Jalandhar's valve trade grew from brass foundries that cast taps and fittings for homes and farms. Over time the units moved into gate, globe and ball valves for water, plumbing and industry. Casting, machining and polishing are spread across many small shops that work together. The cluster formed a special purpose vehicle, Valve World, to seek a common facility under MSE-CDP.
In numbers
The Valve World cluster had 350 functional units with a turnover of ₹800 crore and employment of 13,050.
