The story
Gadwal weaving grew under the patronage of the Gadwal rulers, who brought skilled weavers to the town. The sarees join a cotton body to a silk border and pallu with the kupadam or kumbam technique, so the saree is light yet looks rich. They are traditional wedding and temple wear. Gadwal Sarees carry a GI tag.
