The story
Narayanpet weaving is said to have begun in the 17th century when weavers from Maharashtra settled here during Maratha campaigns. The sarees have checked bodies, contrast borders with temple motifs and a distinctive pallu. Being close to Maharashtra and Karnataka, they sell widely across all three states. Narayanpet Handloom Sarees carry a GI tag.
