The story
Aurangabad was a slow-growing Marathwada town until MIDC opened industrial areas at Chikalthana and Waluj in the 1970s and 1980s. Bajaj Auto started making vehicles at Waluj in 1985, and hundreds of suppliers followed, along with makers such as Endurance and Varroc. The Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) at Shendra-Bidkin, part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, is adding new land for industry.
