The story
Durrie weaving in Warangal goes back to the Kakatiya period, and the Kothawada area of the city became its centre. Weavers use pit and frame looms to make flat-woven cotton durries with geometric and natural motifs. In recent decades many units have woven for export buyers and home-furnishing brands. Warangal Durries carry a GI tag.
