India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) →India–UK CETA in force since 15 July 2026, with zero duty on nearly 99% of India's exports. Get a preferential Certificate of Origin from the DGFT e-CoO platform.Their import rules
- Follow the GOV.UK 'Import goods into the UK' steps; the UK importer needs an EORI number and makes the customs declaration.
- Food and feed must meet Food Standards Agency (FSA) rules; plant and animal products are pre-notified on the IPAFFS system and need Indian health or phytosanitary certificates.
- Regulated manufactured goods need UKCA marking (CE marking is also accepted for many goods in Great Britain).
- Check new SPS (food, plant, animal health) and TBT (product standards) notices for this market on India Trade Portal before you ship.
How to find buyers

- Join your Export Promotion Council (EPC) and apply for its buyer–seller meets and India pavilions at fairs in this country; MAI scheme support may cover part of the cost.
- Write to the commerce wing of the Indian embassy or high commission with your product, HS code and catalogue; ask for importer lists and trade enquiries.
- Food buyers meet at IFE in London; fashion buyers at Pure London (now held with Spring Fair at the NEC, Birmingham).
